I am on a quest to get stuff done and create a life worth living. This is my personal blog - and I write for my own reasons and whatever I feel like writing about. Often I use this space as a way to keep myself on track. Don't expect anything polished or professional here!
Stuff I believe:
Make time for creativity - if you are creative then you need to express it. Don't let your creativity fall by the wayside. It fuels your life and not doing it will deplete you.
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Be Present. Be creative.
Life is an adventure.
Independent thinking is crucial
Horizons are there to be expanded.
Friends and family are our true wealth.
We need to feel free to feel truly alive.
Magic happens when we follow our dreams
I am motivated by the desire to feel free and be happy - oh and frustration - the desire to make better. To live a life in alignment with my values. I am inspired by Ghandi who said that, "when what you think, what you say and what you do are the same, then you are happy". I guess i am trying to live my best life. Being as authentic as I can be and working out what it is that I bring to the world to make it a better place for me having lived in it. Another quote that I pretty much return to - most often - is "Do what you can, where you are, with what you have". Its a pretty good one - I can find it attributed to various people. But I like to think it was Eleanor Roosveldt who said it, because she rocks.
My work is getting present and spacious so that I can be creative - and often its about helping others do the same.
I am currently working with Then Somehow as a "Capacity Builder" (see linked in for more deets about that)
I do similar work 121 or in small groups for Creative Entrepreneurs - I call this work Get Stuff Done or Declutter Your Head.
I run Wild Art Journaling workshops
I paint paintings
I am a mum to a gorgeous boy.
Before this I worked for a wonderful consultancy called People Who Do, where I ran training courses on Productivity, very much inspired by David Allen's Getting Things Done (I named my blog before I had even heard of that book by the way!) I helped many people grapple with their blocks and barriers to getting stuff done. Things like overwhelm, too much to do too little time, interuptions, procrastination, other people, too many emails, lack of focus, over committing. And I think I learned a lot about what makes people tick and how they let things get on top of them.
The funny thing is, in a way, its the same as Yoga. What I am really doing is helping people make space in their lives, so that they can feel present, calm and centred. A recent Get Stuff Done client said it made him feel grounded. And much less stressed. And it supports creativity. I know. Its the reason I do it. Its like my job on this earth is to declutter, simplify and reduce proliferation. Starting with my own life.
I am a freelancer, nearly always have been, and generally am about earning a living without getting a job. Though I will never say never. especially if the job is a good one. they do exist i have seen them
In this online world I have discovered brilliant artists and ways of thinking that really excite me. I discovered e courses and art retreats and inspiring books and perhaps most excitingly A whole world of people out there with whom I could learn and share with.
I am currently deep into developing my businesses soulfully so that work is not just well paid, but also a joy.
