THe Night of Splendour produced by Mothers Uncovered at the Nightingale Theatre last night, was just a brilliant night out. I got lots of positive comments about my drawings - no commissions (yet?) but hey - I did get interest from someone who thought I might be interested in illustrating her children's book she has written. Could be very interesting, non?
The even was a celebration of motherhood via creativity. Is that right? It was funny, touching, warm and just so brilliant and fab to have 'motherhood' presented back to you in artistic and creative ways, poetry, story reading, performance and song. At the end, the last act, 2 singers called yomama memama (I think?) got all the audience on stage and taught us some harmonies and we sang! A fairly ridiculous song called We Rock the Pants of Motherhood (yeah!) but it was just so fun. I met some brilliant ladies and had a good chat, and drank wine and ate nibbles. I love live performance.
