Many Good Things

I have had a lovely lovely lovely weekend.

I had a camping weekend in Suffolk, with family and a few close friends who have been part of my life for a very long time, .  It took some organising and despite my choosing it as what I thought would be the easiest and simplest way to get everyone together, it still took a lot of work.  People arrived from Thursday afternoon, through Friday and through Saturday at at each point this was tea or meals and then on Saturday evening there were 35 ish folk to be fed and watered.  The garden to be decorated and all.  But I didn't do it alone.

The wonderful thing, and what makes me well up at the memory of it,  was that everyone helped so much.  Everyone did so much. And the weather was kind.  Imagine that.  Summer in England!

People brought decorations and things for kids to play with.   trays of skewered veg and delicious cakes and desserts  and salads.  Hub organised the boules olympics and a game of touch rugby with kids and adults.  A huge fire was lit after dinner.

It was a sort of pre (big) birthday event (given that October is not great for camping) and I am honoured and touched beyond words to have such wonderful friends and family around me.  Thank you all so very very much.  I am going to cry again now.  I love you.  I am incredibly lucky.
