Went along this morning. Nearly didnt as I have work I am procrastinating on to do. Which I am still briefly procrastinating on to write this. God I am disatractable!!
But I was so glad to have gone. What an awesome bunch of ladies. And so helpful too. I love them and am so glad of that circle of brilliantness.
Ev was there, tho she and her hub have now officially retired and are travelling for the forseeable future. Not bad for under 50. Am really jealous obviously! Mi who lead the group fabulously, talked about how she has had a recent conversion. Namely that until recently she felt that women were - not good. She didn't like women, or being one, and that growing up meant pretty much being a good boy, and not admitting to any kind of feminity at work, as its seen as weak, frivoulous, not considered meaningful, etc. But that it was great to be a woman in these times because we are setting up our own businesses and running them in ways that we want to. And we dont have to hide who we are. And also to think about what success means. Because, for most women, success will mean achieving a life balance. It wont just be chasing the money, but include time for self care, for relaxing, for community and life. And chasing the money, can just mean your expenses go up and up and you still feel you don't have enough money or time.
So with that in mind. I want to earn as much as I can without breaking the heavy tax barrier. Success will be not having to work on anything that I don't enjoy, earning lots of money for my time so that I can work less and live more.
Simples. Love that group.
