There is something really special about hanging your own work on your wall. Its not the same as having done it in the studio. There it sort of remains a WIP (work in progress). Its been created and it had got to that point, of yes I *think* its finished. But taking it home and hanging it. It gives it a whole new look. I see it in a different light. And its like I have brought some of the joy I had making it into our living room. I think with time some bits might need tweeking (tweaking?) but for now I am Loving having this on my wall.

Clearing Space for Creativity
The point of creativity. Where we have no idea what is going to happen next and we let go, not sure of the outcome or any plan and play. TO get there, we empty our heads. We clear space. HOW to clear space?
Literally. Declutter. Get stuff out of your house and your space. Have less.
Morning Pages. empty your head of the nonsense that fills it up. Get it out.
SCribble furiously.
Dance
Shake it off. SHAKE. a lot.
meditate. create inner space. Make ROOM.
SHOUT loudly.
Rip stuff up.
Go away to a room that has no one in it.
Have a shed. Sit in it for a day.
Go to the beach. Stare at the wide open space of the sea.
Do something phsyically hard
go for a walk.
have a bath with candles and bath oils and mineral salts.
open the windows. Let the air rush through your space. Let it blow stuff away.
cleanse using a sage stick.
Clap loudly in all corners of your room.
listen to a very loud gong.
Drum
Clear your schedule. Cancel everything.
Do what ever it takes to make space. Create spaciousness
daily reflections WEdnesday 19th July
Written for myself. Out of the head pouring stuff. Oh my my head is full of stuff. Like nonsense and sensical stuff. am going to clear it out right her right now. Firstly a whole load of nonsense, Love Island. My head is actually whirring about that stupid programme!! WHy do I care about Marcel and Gabby? What is that? And then the house in Croatia and the franticness and not workingness of that right now. I understand that what will be will be and that the best that can be done will be done. And yet generaly unease about the floods, the set up there, the rules of Croatia and how not to upset folk there. I think that once the house is settled down a lot then it will even out and be super easy to manage. Its only going to be let out during the summer isn't it. And then its just friends and family and stuff. And its just going to be so that we get our money back and have a house to go on holiday in. Nothing more. It will all be fine. It WILL. Its building works and a deadline. Its soooo hard to get it all done on time, what with floods and rules and it being so far away and all.
SO that. And then painting. Just paintings. Images in my head. Ideas, thoughts, dreams, notions. All flying around like crazy beasts.
And here. My reflection space. I need to do the clearing first isn't it. CLEAR that head full of stuff.
So. What IS working. Well the painting weekend went really well. I was super happy with it. And its got potential for something really lovely and beautiful and transformational and magic. Hub is doing loads around the house and looking after Bub and stuff like that so I feel supported. Bub got a good report and is back on track a bit. We have plans for the summer and for the autumn. I am back eating healthy again after about a week of slightly off kilter eating. I had a great chat with Cheryl about coaching / training collaboration. And that excites me an awful lot.
Could be better. Our house, moving the offices, the tidyness of it, and the garden. Has also stalled. Need to move that on again. We need a shed for my Art Stuff. I am short on work in the Autumn and need more of that please universe. I feel slightly discombobulated. Not sure why. Yesterday was too much social media for sure, it never helps. Slightly disconcerted by the notion of having to provide kit and lunches. Not having to, I don't. But the idea of providing those for folk who want more of that sort of provided for experience. Re jigging of my mind about the Wild Painting workshops. Wanting to make them mine not just inspired by others. Thinking of lots of things. Lots of head whirring.
What to do about all that. - more meditation. Less social media. better eating. more exercise. morning pages. do morning pages.
Get ready for Dance Camp East. Fact that I am camping all next week fries my head slightly. Not prepared PLUS I have to come back as Ted's school term isn't over yet!! for goodness sake.
Hope its not raining and cold and windy next week.
OK nuff. Over and out.

Wild Painting Weekend
This weekend just past I hosted the very first WILD PAINTING weekend at the amazing Lawrence Art Studio in Brighton (Hove, actually!) and 9 beautiful souls pitched up and came to paint, play, experiment, learn, enjoy themselves immensely. Letting the paintings emerge, rather than executing any planned ideas.
I have done many Wild Art Journaling sessions and courses, but this was on a much much bigger scale, the studio was expensive to hire, the canvases were expensive to buy, I would need much more paint, I have never done a whole weekend before...... so much was new and pioneering for me. It was stepping off into the unknown, a leap of faith. I felt as if I were on the high board at diving for the first time, the safety of the ground, far far away. And yet I have never been more excited and delighted and eager to do anything in my life. I think I have been dreaming of this for many many years........ And in all honesty I was doing this as much for myself as for the others who were going to join me on this journey.
I had 9 people in the end. I was aiming for 10. At one point, when I put it out there, I had like 15 people all saying that they wanted to come and I was freaking out about not having enough room , then slowly many of them dropped out for various and legitimate reasons. A week before I thought I was going to have just 4 of us in the studio. Which would have covered my costs but not made it something I could do as my creative business idea. So I was nervous about that too. But slowly as the week progressed more people signed up, right up until the morning of the event, one person was still thinking about it and I had given her the option of coming if she felt she wanted to. She came!
I learned a lot. Things like, getting in the night before to set up would have been a good idea and in fact had I asked it would have been possible. That 100x100cm canvases do not fit into my little car. Lunch venues or suggestions would be good. Canvases can be bought on site if I ask beforehand. People do need to bring journals. There are other things too, that i would like to try........
I learned that - the exact right people turned up. And that whatever it is I am doing is attractive to the kind of folk I want to hang out with. It feels like I am on the right track with this thing. It feels more than that actually. It feels special and amazing and magical and tingly and zingy.
So the next one is on October 7-8th at the same place. 10 folks seems about right. Am already looking forward to it.
"this is perfect for you if you've always wanted to paint or been curious to try painting on a bigger scale, but intimidated by the blank canvas. Moyra will get you over that hurdle in the first 5 minutes! She's really lovely and enthusiastic and down-to-earth and will give you lots of quick and easy tips and tricks to get painting and mark making and layering and being braver than you ever thought you could be!"

I need 6 more people to come and paint with me. is this you?
Do you dream of painting on huge canvases? Of being in a beautiful sunlit art studio, painting with broad strokes with vibrant colour? Surrounded by likeminded souls?

Enough. Am sorting it out.
For one weekend in July I shall be leading a Wild Painting Weekend in Hove in a stunning dream art studio.
We will have time, and big canvases and plenty of paint.
I will lead you though processes to get your creativity flying and get your painting mojo going. I will let you go to create as you will.
At the end of the weekend you will have 3 amazing unexpected paintings and have spent time doing what you love.
Who’s with me?

what I have learned lately
Doing Miracle Mornings - or some such thing - to meditate, affirmations, writing in a journal, reading inspriational stuff, exercise. That sets the tone for the day. It resets us and keeps us from our habitual patterns.
I love hosting. I love my friends and I want them around here at my house more often.
I am too vague on my goals. I think about stuff and I write stuff down, but its not finalised and it remains in notebooks or here and there so that I can't recall it as well as I want to. I want to create something that is up on my wall so that I can review it and track my progress.
