Poetry and cold hard cash....

So am beginning to feel more human again (though still immensley fuggy headed) and after a wee brainstorming new year resolutiony step it up etc meeting with the Hub last night, am feeing really quite focused.

However the finances are in a bit of a state.  Christmas cost SO MUCH.  I admit we just stopped thinking about it and, talk about unconsious spending....  And just the car hire was a fortune....  And I just have no idea how I managed to spend so much on food.  Considering I can manage on £200 a month... I spent, um £321 and then £150 and then £97.  There were some presents in with this, and we do have lots of food left over.  But even so.....

Hence, this morning, I got all the cash we have in the house, counted up all the coins (big container!) and notes (I did a lot of cash work before Christmas) and took all cash off Hub.  And he now has £50 spending money.  To be accounted for next week.  And I paid all the credit card bills (food and car hire) worked out what money we have left in the account ( well I am nearly at that point, anyway) so we know where we are.  We have plenty of cash to buy food with for ages.  All back to the keeping strict track of things here.
