Running a 5K

ohmygod.  They say you must do the thing that scares you.  What scares me? Running.  I am NOT a fan.  I was rubbish at school.  My mum actually wrote me a sick note on the days of the big cross country race. And my mum was NOT the kind of person who wrote sick notes out for missing school.  She was a teacher.  She believed in education.  But she felt for me with the running.  And let me avoid it because hated it so much.

So this morning a lovely mum, whom I had told about my fundraising efforts offered that she was sure a bunch of mums from Humming Bird class (Bub's new Year 1 class name) would be up for some fundraising, and suggested all these runs we could do, and the C25K programme...... and I found myself unable to dismiss the idea.

I am in the prospect of running 5k.  And not only that, but the 6 weeks of running that you ought to do to get up to that sort of level.

Yes this is beyond me.  EEEEEEEEEEEEK

This is what I would be running for..... https://www.justgiving.com/OneBigStepforDaniel/

Wow! You continue to amaze me with the things you're doing!

I am curious to hear how your training goes leading up to the race - this is something I would probably never do so I live vicariously!

Love what you're running for - you've got a cheerleader here! Ever need a pep talk to keep you going just let me know! :)

Well done Moyra for starting something that scares you and putting it out there! You can do this, particularly if you have friends who you can train with. I did my first 5K a couple of years ago because I wanted to be a training buddy to my friend who was training for a triatholon.I now train by myself and that isn't half as enjoyable. Start slowly, there are lots of good training programmes you can follow, you never know, you just may learn to like it! :o)
