a daily update. Monday 6th February

Just to start with.  I feel like pants.  I mean I don't feel good.  I mean I feel totally and utterly underparr.  Wash out city.

So  -what went well today?

Luckily I didn't have to do any work.  So I was able to rest up.  I made some parsnip soup which was delicious and tasty and felt nourishing.  My husband went out and bought fish and chips for dinner so I didn't have to cook dinner or wash up or anything like that. Fish and chips felt warm and filling and tasty.

This morning I got up early and helped out some fellow parents by having their son over before school.  7am he came as his mum has to get to work as a teacher.  The boys played very happily.  I felt good to help out, and Bub had a laugh.

I had a call with one of my coaching clients - a really really lovely chap, whom it seems I have helped, which made me really happy.  Made my day in fact.

I found someone who works as a cleaner who can come around tomorrow and let me know what she thinks.  she has a 2 hour minimum pw, so I guess she will fill her time.  We only have a tiny house.  So that's a task done too.  I decided yesterday that I need some support in this house keeping mallarky and this is my first step to arranging myself more back up.  Accounting is still in my court but that would be next.

What could be done better.  Health could be better.   I did my best today.  I perhaps could have slept even more.  Trying to do the stuff I did felt too much.  But there we are. Am sincerely hoping that tomorrow I will wake up feeling less utterly drained of all energy.  I drifted into pointless posts about politics.  I find it all too much quite frankly.  People who like Trump baffle me beyond measure. Those who say the "liberal controlled media" when I see a media that at least has grounding in the facts.  Why do they hate him?  Because he is an arse of the highest degree.  People who say that he is going to be good for America? what in the long run - but after the pipelines and walls have been built?  Anyway - I get angry and this doesn't help me.  So I banned myself again.  I am on a 24 hour ban.   And generally speaking I want to avoid it as much as possible.  So tomorrow, more avoiding of FB and hopefully feeling less awful.

Xmas eve

It's funny. I'm almost disappointed that there's nothing else to prepare.  All done.  Well......sod parboiling potatoes at this point in the evening.

Yes. The house is tidy and clean. The presents wrapped.  A carrot, mince pie and glass of milk set out for Santa.  An eeerie calm about the house.   (No one is stiring....)

Today was good. In general. Just bloody good.  We did the shop first thing (ish) and it wasn't crowded. No xmas pud tho. Sold out.  And no trifle bits n pieces either.  But we found a pud later.  Last one at the Co-op!

We walked to 7 dials and bought some fab Sussex wine and beer. And some Brighton gin. From Seven Cellars.

We walked up town getting some last minute bits and pieces.  Came home. Made mince pies. Then went to the local church for carols. It sort of marks the start of actual Christmas.  It's the children's crib service and it's packed.  They have a real donkey and everything.
After dinner ( a very successful tasty and easy sausage pasta!) we went to see the last street of the Hanover Advent Calendar. And to drop all our spare change in the Shelter collection tin in the Constant Service.

The days felt so sparkly. And cheery. And merry Christmassy.  Just yummy really.

I did my plank and 16,000 or so steps.  No meditation mind you.  But I did do it yesterday twice.  Doesn't really count that does it!

So to do better? Meditation. Obvs.  Nothing else.  All great today. Oh. Next year to know the names and house numbers of everyone in street (willing) and to have given them hand made cards.  Or at least cards.  Yes.

So looking forward to Christmas Day.  Merry Christmas everyone.  Xxxxxx

A daily do.

Yesterday. What went well.  Yesterday I enjoyed being sociable.  I enjoyed making. I liked that Bub drew with me.  I was impressed that Bub got himself out of his funk. And tried.  He's a brave  little soul.  I sent a video that was misssing.  Saving some work and speeding along the process.

To do better.  Um. Try and not have the last two glasses of wine. Saying no IS possible! Ha!

Today.  What went well? I posted the gifts and cards I needed to post. Clarified dates and work to be done.  I got paid.  I helped Bub go play badminton and I got to spend the afternoon making art and chatting good chat.  I started to compile my mailing list for Wild Art Journaling and made some new year Create Your Magic cards.  It feels good.

I didn't manage my 10,000 steps again. Too much driving and sitting.  But I did my meditation and plank.  Go me.

Tomorrow- more walking.  Use my mindfulness bell app.  Eat well.  Make something delicious

tracking

well yesterday I discovered google reader.  and my posts right back to my second or third (not my first, bizarrely which is a bit of a shame) are all on it.  It was really cool to browse  back and see how far I have come.  also bizarrely it seems to me that I am also back at that beginning again.  I guess that happens in life, it sprials around and we circle past places we have been before.

This January is a back to basics tracking and no spend month.  Am not alone in this, and its a good time to start with all that menu planning and keeping track sort of stuff.  Am feeling more heartened by having looked at the worst of things in the face and done some thinking, some sorting and finding out, that we are OK.  Its not that I would rather we were in a slightly different position and it is a bit gutting to have to use hard won savings.  But, hey.  At least we have them.  And work will come, for both of us.

Healthy January has rather gone out the window yesterday and today as a glass of wine and things like toast have been used to  bolster up morale.  Not great in the long run that sort of bolstering.  In fact it all feels rather like the excesses of Christmas are still hanging around getting eaten up.  But it will happen.

I must say I am pleased by my Yoga everyday effort.  I have been getting up and getting at least something in every day.  Today it was just 20 mins.  But that is 20 mins more than nothing.

Perhaps my word for this year will be YOGA.  Union.  Bringing together. Joining.

And a little anatomy study every day too.  Its going a lot better.

I spent most of today in town battling the elements.  Oh it was blowing a right old storm.  Taking things back to M&S and Debenhams, trying to get a hat that fits my Hub's enormous nuggin.  He is size 7 and 3/4.  Bigger than anything M&S or Debenhams have to offer. I got Bub a few shirts as I had an H&M voucher for xmas and I couldn't really see anything I wanted and the shirts were too cute.

So for the record.  Oh 3rd of January
Food spend = £11.18
other = £7.35
