two bits, one a thanks and one a request to the universe

OK its still not the story of the retreat.  I just can't seem to condense it into anything anyone would want to read.... I will post it one day.  However I just had to pop by to let you know of one of those Universe giving you signs things.

Ages ago, and often in my head I have wondered and asked and made my brain ache because I would love to know how to turn what I do at Supergroups (creative brainstorming basically) into some sort of work that I can generate for myself, get paid for..... I meet people who seem to do this kind of thing and I am jealous and I wonder, how did they get into it, how did it happen for them? How can I do that? One of these people is Curtis James from People Who Do.  He organises Likemind Bri with others, all of whom do really cool things, check out Hunter Gatherers (cool name!)  I really liked the sound of his business and this kind of business. (The ultimate would be Li Edelkort  by the way, Universe as I do know you are listening) But how to get into it? How?

So today I was at Likemind (brighton) and met some one who does training for leadership via bodywork (interesting, yes isn't it mad and cool what careers people have!) and someone else who is writing a book about buying a boat.  And then Curtis, who I hardly ever get to talk to at these things, for some reason.  But today I asked him about his business and he told me it was good, so good in fact that they had too much work on and needed to hire more folk in to help them..... er ME ME ME! Part time (perfect) and I will be trained to facilitate groups....  COOOOOOL.  I am actually extremely excited.  Its like a proper grown up (well paid) sort of thing.  Or, OK it could be.  Have no idea at the present.  But it could be.  Better paid than childminding or running a playgroup or probably working in a gallery.... and fun, and challenging and I am really excited by this opportunity.

Second thing

Dear Universe, I have to say you are working absolute wonders with my life these days.  I am extremely and utterly grateful for the things like Do What You Love that you have brought my way.  And the gallery job and the portrait commissions and the PAINTING..... love love love.  I was wondering if you wouldn't mind finding me a studio space?  I don't need much room, a wall and a few feet of space in front of it.  Ideally in a shared space with other really lovely creative and brilliant fun folks.  And either in walking distance or somewhere I can park the car.  An inspiring environs. Where I can continue my painting journey.  I feel so inspired with it, and just loved getting immersed in the process.  Oh and where I can sometimes play my music, or other folk play great music too.  Thanks that would ROCK.

dear universe

Hello Universe, I have a request again.  I must say I am deeply thankful for all the opportunities you have given me so far this year to earn some money. All those days in the gallery, and the Supergroup and the recruitment...and being Kit's nanny for the next two weeks.  Today I need something different.  I need someone to talk to.  Its just that I feel so uspet and frustrated by somethings and I feel that there is no one I can talk to about them.  And I just want someone really wise, who can listen and be wise about my situation.  Please can you send me some wise counsel.  Much appreciated.

more collected

AH, feeling better now.  Just sorted through a few bits of admin stuff  - yeah I KNOW! - how can admin actually make me feel better? Well I just typed up all I have earnt this year (including the money I should have earnt for the work I did for hub) and I am doing REALLY WELL so far this year.  Plus there is enough for me to put away for my Creative Retreat and pay off several bills and I remembered that I paid a tax bill out of the current account which means I have saved enough tax after all.  SO  yes, am happy. Thank you very much.  Of course, I have had some wonderful help from the Universe on this, so I am pretty grateful for that.  And there is no point dwelling on the crappy bits of life really is there? All is actually well in my world.  I am about to have a nice hot bath and reflect on how well I am doing (rather than stressing about all the bits where its not going so well)  Here's to a little tad of gratitude.

And here are a selection of my Valentines Cards.  I have a few left and gave 10 to the shop that sells some of my work.

thank you universe

So, the other day I asked for a bit of help with my work situation, having lost out on 2 jobs.  And today I got a call from the gallery with 2 days work for next week (that don't clash) and the possibility of more in Feb when they go on holiday.  Am very grateful. Thank you Magical Universe.

I have also via Kind over Matter, discovered a blog called, Zebrasounds its very cheery and lovely and because of its Love Project (check it out, its great) it inspired me to start a chat with a lady on the bus . I recognised her as one of the other mum's from Bub's preschool and was about to start texting but stopped and decided to say hello and start up a conversation with her.  And we had such a nice chat! It turns out she is a fellow creative, and is planning on starting up a home made kids clothes business, and may come along to a Likemind with me one day.

I spent this evening watching Raging Bull as part of our Film Club.  Classy picture, beautiful, gruelling in parts (violence), amazing performances, sometimes a little too lovingly lingering, a tad indulgent (slow) but always made up for it in the beauty of its shots.  Every scene like an incredible photo. Not my favourite film though (Singing in the Rain, Citizen Kane both better in my book)

p.s end of day five without coffee.  virtually no milk. and no meat. and no cake.  I rock.

p.p.s thank you, again, Universe, your help is much appreciated.

wednesday luck

Hmm.  Yesterday I made a pledge to myself to let the UNIVERSE direct my life, and sort out my problems (such as they are) and today.  Well things are good.  I do feel more relaxed about stuff.  And jobs just keep coming my way.  I have some more label sewing to do.  Nothing fancy about this, but a surprisingly good piece work earner.  If only this were more regular.  I have 2 supergroups coming up.  And then, one of the ladies who organise stuff at the Hanover Centre asked me if I would be interested in being paid to run regular table top sales at the centre as a fundraising activity for them.  Seems like a win win to me.  I really would like a weekend job, so that we have that regular money coming in.  And then on top of that I just have to cobble together work that creates earnings in excess of £1000 a month.  Not massive earnings lets face it, but a good start and will help us survive through the irregularities of Hub's payments.  I really don't want a full time job.  I would have to give up my playgroup.  I love my playgroup.  Its so good.  I am so proud of it. Mainly its great because great people come, but I do make a right proper effort to be welcoming and friendly and I think it sets the tone.  Everyone all seems to chat with each other and get on really well.  One thing I was proud of today, in particular,  was that a lady who came right at the start, told me that she usually went to another, very local, playgroup and she wouldn't be coming to mine again as it clashes, and she was only here because of some reason or other.  Well, fair enough I thought, I'd go to my nearest too. Then, she didn't sign in for ages, and I got privately really annoyed with her for not paying and started to fret about how to go about reminding her to pay.  And then I just thought, you know what, if she forgets to pay, so what.  Its her Karma.  And I forgot about it.  Then, much later, she did pay, and when she did I started talking to her, and I found out she was from Iceland (I love Iceland, its an amazing place that I travelled to a while ago, so know a bit about it) and we had a great chat.  And right at the end of the session she said to me, "I am going to come back here again, its a really lovely playgroup".  I am so pleased I didn't get all mean about her not paying. She was lovely.  I don't want to give up my playgroup.  So I am not going to.  I am going to have faith that things I love doing are going to bring me money and income.  I will still be looking, but only for part time work.
